Fast and Professional Enevelope Addressing

The guest list is one of the most important and time consuming projects in planning a wedding. By now you should have at least a rough draft of your guest list completed. Please remember that your invitations will be your guest's first impression of your wedding.

Your envelopes will be printed as you submit them, so please take some time to read our Etiquette Quick Reference Guide for addressing wedding invitations. By paying attention to small details, you will present your guests with an envelope that shows you care about them. You will make a fabulous first impression which will reflect on the importance of your wedding day.

See how attention to detail can make all the difference in how your invitation is received? Never abbreviate - spell it out. Never use a hyphenated zip code on a formal invitation. Taking the time to perfect this part of your wedding is the first gift you will be giving to your friends and family. At Somewhere In Time, we refer to "Crane's Blue Book of Stationery" for our etiquette guidelines. There may be occasions where the customer would like her envelopes a certain way- such as a theme wedding. Although we don't suggest abandoning etiquette altogether, Somewhere In Time does believe that the customer is always right. If you choose to bend the consensus of opinion , that is fine with us. Party invitations certainly fall into this category as well, which is why Somewhere In Time offers numerous "Party/Theme" fonts for the customer to choose from. Somewhere In Time is an addressing "Service", and we are here to serve you, our customer.

Inner Envelope Information for Guest Lists

Inner Envelopes: There is more advantage than disadvantage for using an inner envelope with your Wedding invitations. It may cost a little more, but it makes a much better presentation for your invitation. An inner envelope also clarifies exactly who is invited to the wedding.

If Jill and Jake are older teens still residing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doe, then you would probably want to include "and guest" after their names, which will make for an even more cluttered appearance. Thus one advantage of an inner envelope. If you have already settled on invitations with a single outer envelope, you would probably want to send a separate invitation to both Jill and Jake if they are older than 18 and at the same address. You may need to order more invitations and envelopes than you first thought.

The software we use at Somewhere In Time-Calligraphy By Computer automatically addresses the inner envelope with the addressee's names. It is up to the customer to indicate on the guest list you submit what names you would like added.

*See our Envelope Addressing Etiquette Quick Reference table for inner envelope addressing.

envelope addressing services

NOTE: Or if you wish to address some or all of your inner envelopes less formally with first names, Somewhere In Time will be happy to do that for you. Simply provide us with those names on your submitted guest list.

An inner envelope may also be a reception RSVP to be returned to invitation sender. In this case, you would provide Somewhere In Time with the address you would like to appear on all of your RSVP envelopes. Before mailing out your invitations, RSVP envelopes should be pre-stamped for your guests, or Somewhere In Time will stamp them for you if you choose our convenient Stuffing/Stamping service.
